Cosmetics have a usable life. Follow the product's storage guidance and any date or period-after-opening information provided.
Start when you open it
Keep a note of the opening date, especially if you rotate between products. A period-after-opening symbol, where provided, is different from a calendar expiration date. Ask the brand if the packaging is unclear.
Do not assign every serum the same lifespan. Formulas and packaging differ, and an ingredient headline cannot establish an exact shelf life.
Store it as directed
Ozera's directions specify a cool, dry place. Close the container after use and keep it away from direct heat. Avoid adding water or transferring products into containers that introduce contamination.
Notice a change
If a product changes noticeably in odor, color or consistency, set it aside and ask the brand for guidance. An unusual appearance is not something to explain away because an ingredient is familiar.
FDA notes that storage and use can affect the usable life of cosmetics. A bottle's age is only part of the picture.
