Look for the exact names
“Vitamin C” is a useful introduction, but cosmetic labels use more specific names. In 004 Vitamin C Serum, the list includes 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid. It also includes niacinamide, panthenol and tocopheryl acetate.
Two products that both mention vitamin C can contain different forms and different supporting ingredients. Their headline alone does not make them equivalent.
A formula is more than a pairing
Finding two ingredients on one label tells you they are present. It does not tell you their exact amounts, predict a result, or establish how another brand's serum will behave alongside them.
